102. Legendary Hero

Everything went silent.

Even though it was the middle of a battle the air around us was calm and quiet.

Avos reaches up to his mask and removes it showing the undeniable face of Ray.

“How did you know?” (Ray)

The usual voice of Ray comes out. I guess the mask was for changing his voice.

“Ray Grandori is a reincarnated person. The chances of that being true were very high due to the fact you didn’t inherit the Iesta families secret techniques which was probably caused by the use of <Silica>. Also, your sense of values are very different for this era and sometimes you showed me gestures that were familiar like you knew me.” (Arnos)

At this point even though I was convinced he was a reincarnated person I simply assumed he had no memories.

“To hide the fact you were Kanon you played the part of a reincarnated person who would know me. You pretended to be my right hand Shin that you fought against in the past. You can probably also use magic quite well but if you did that your mazoku body would exhibit holy power which was another convenient reason to pretend to be Shin.” (Arnos)

Shin was weak with magic so by pretending to be him he could hide his magic. Hiding his magic by keeping it weak would also make his holy power undetectable.

Also, due to his skill in root magic which is superior to mine, he could hide his origin from my demon eyes.

“Shortly after we came to Gairadeite you gave Misa that shellfish necklace. Remember asking that shopkeeper if he had a single shell one? Thing is, they are one shell split into two necklaces normally yet you knew to ask for a single unbroken one. You shouldn’t have known that.” (Arnos)

At that point, it wasn’t hard to assume that Ray had at least some memories from his past life.

“The clasp on the necklace as well. Its a design not found in Deiruheido yet you easily knew how to undo it. It was a bit odd since Shin couldn’t care less about accessories. If it was a Deiruheido item he may have remembered but he wouldn’t have considered an Azeshion item worth remembering.” (Arnos)

I wrote it off at first because I didn’t know everything about Shin so there was a small chance he could have known but it still surprised me.

“I asked you after that exam if you had remembered anything since you had mastered the unique sword.” (Arnos)

But Ray said he hadn’t.

“Shin’s thoughts should have remained in the blade and once they encountered the same origin they would have transferred to you but you said they didn’t. If you didn’t receive any memories how did you know about the necklace?” (Arnos)

The mazoku haven’t had much interaction with the humans for almost 2000 years so it’s hard to imagine Ray going to Azeshion to find a cure for his mother where he may have encountered the necklace. Also, I explained about it in class after Ray had given it to Misa plus he overslept and did turn up to that class anyway.

“In other words, you weren’t Shin and you were obviously lying about not having any memories.” (Arnos)

Ray once said to Misa that he was a liar. I’m guessing he meant this.

“But if you weren’t Shin then who were you? There was no one else on my side 2000 years ago who could use both holy swords and unique swords. However, what if the hero Kanon had reincarnated as a mazoku? I had no doubt that he could use both.” (Arnos)

That was when I hypothesised that Ray was Kanon.

“What I didn’t understand though was if you were the Hero Kanon then why not tell me? Now we have peace there was no reason to hide it from me.” (Arnos)

I only realised the reason back on Eiyan hill.

“You realised that if you told me you were Kanon I would notice that you only had one origin.” (Arnos)

No matter how good Kanon is with root magic some things can’t be hidden and him only having one origin would be one of those things.

“It wouldn’t matter what your excuse was I’d still wonder where the other six went and it wouldn’t take long to link it to the seven elder demon emperors. Out of the seven only Melheys wasn’t taken over.” (Arnos)

It wouldn’t be enough for me to think they’d simply been captured.

“Six of the demon elders fused with the origins of Avos Dillheavia leaving only one. The same number of origins the hero Kanon had. The numbers would match up exactly. Far too good to be a coincidence.” (Arnos)

Ray was silently listening not denying a word.

“Therefore you couldn’t confess to being Kanon because I’d realise you were Avos.” (Arnos)

Of course, there had been some unexpected situations. His mother’s illness and the whole sword tournament competition for example.

I’ve got some doubts about the sword tournament but this isn’t the time nor the place to ask about that.

“I think I’ve got the general outline Kanon but what happened 2000 years ago?” (Arnos)

I ask him straight and Ray smiles with a far more mature look than he’s ever had before.

“It’s exactly as Eleonor told you Arnos. Jerga-sensei and the Gairadeite demon king subjugation force established the hero academy so they could destroy you when you reincarnated. I desperately opposed it but no one would listen to me. You were right that day. Killing the demon king didn’t make the world peaceful. The battle was over but the war would begin again in 2000 years.” (Ray)

The fighting would continue until one side eradicated the other. Those were the words I said to him.

“I was killed by a supporter of Jerga-sensei. I pretended to die and just revived immediately but I realised sensei’s plan couldn’t be stopped anymore……unless I took their lives.” (Ray)

I guess he couldn’t do it. The hero Kanon didn’t have a sword to wield against humans.

“Humans made a mistake 2000 years ago. They made a plan to completely destroy the demon king Arnos who threw his life away to bring peace to the world. I couldn’t allow such an unjust story to unfold. I had to correct their mistake somehow.” (Ray)

“That’s the reason….?” (Arnos)

Ray nods.

“I created the fictitious demon king Avos Dillheavia. A fake demon king for the humans to have their revenge on.” (Ray)

“How did you take my name away from the mazoku?” (Arnos)

“We talked and sometimes we fought but the mazoku were much more understanding than the humans. Or rather than understanding it was their deep love for you. Eventually, everyone believed me and decided to forget Arnos Voldigod.” (Ray)

Voluntarily forget about me.

“Evans Mana is the sword made to destroy you. It can even sever fate so 2000 years ago I severed your fate. The fate of the reincarnating demon king of tyranny.” (Ray)

“Is that why you changed my name?” (Arnos)

“…..Only the gods know what will happen when you sever someone’s fate but it seems everyone’s thoughts were answered. Looks like I won the first bet.” (Ray)

So my name was overwritten as well.

That’s why even when using Time Manipulation <Lebaido> on Aivis I couldn’t find my name.

The spirit god sword severed my fate as the demon king of tyranny and even rewrote history.

“Your right hand Shin Reglia along with the rest of your trusted advisors didn’t forget your name. Instead, they reincarnated and moved away from Deiruheido. Even the powerful mazoku tribes that didn’t get along with you or follow you during the great war agreed to remain quiet until you’d returned and everything was over.” (Ray)

I see. So that’s why the mazoku from 2000 years ago haven’t appeared before me.

So it was never the work of Avos Dillheavia but all done by their own will. He’s as great as ever. Even though he was a human he gained the favour of the mazoku.

“….On the other side of the wall, the hero academy learned that the name of the demon king had changed. They figured that Arnos Voldigod was trying to change his name and escape their scheme. Of course, that was exactly what I was after.” (Ray)

Humans live short lives. Over the course of the years, the name Arnos Voldigod would disappear and only Avos Dillheavia would remain.

Normally that wouldn’t completely work but the holy sword which severed my fate would have seen to that.

“I fused 6 of my origins with the seven elder demon emperors. Of course, it was with their consent and their memories were voluntarily wiped as well. 2000 years later they knew you’d come into contact with them and notice the fusion so they wiped their own memories since they cannot lie to you.” (Ray)

They did that to protect me from the human’s plan?

“That left me with my own original origin. I reincarnated many times and little by little I obtained bodies with more and more mazoku blood. This is my first time being a pure-blooded mazoku though.” (Ray)

The hero Kanon has reincarnated into a body that completely draws on my blood while I’m in an almost human body.

To completely inherit all his powers in a body that doesn’t have a drop of his old blood is impressive. He is indeed far more skilled at root magic than me.

“And this war is a mop-up of your 2000-year-old plan?” (Arnos)

Ray nods.

“Human hatred won’t disappear. Demon King of tyranny? Humans? This war will continue until one side is destroyed. No matter how merciful you are you’ll have no choice but to keep stamping out the falling embers and I can’t take your life again……” (Ray)

Eleonor’s predictions were wrong. Despite being killed by humans he’s still a noble hero through and through.

“Therefore you’ll be killed instead? As the demon king of tyranny by the humans.” (Arnos)

Ray nods.

“Will that stop it?” (Arnos)

“<Ask> may instil the hatred of the mazoku in its users but ultimately the source of that is Jerga-sensei’s origin. What sensei bore a grudge against above all else was the demon king. If the demon king falls then so too will the magic disappear. I truly believe that. Sensei wasn’t that stupid for it to remain.” (Ray)

The serious look Ray is giving me really reminds me of Kanon.

“This may not be the road I wanted to be on but I’m still a hero. As long as there are still people that call me a hero I will make up for their mistakes and make up for the mistakes of past heroes. You staked your life 2000 years ago and made this peace possible. It’s a truly wonderful world now. It’s almost unthinkable what it was like back when you were alive. Even now this world is getting better.” (Ray)

Unlike me, Ray has seen the changing world as he repeatedly reincarnates.

“Demon king Arnos.” (Ray)

Ray speaks like we spoke 2000 years ago.

“Humans are foolish but I still believe in humans. I want to show you the wonderfulness of humans and the true peace you craved.” (Ray)

“Hero Kanon.” (Arnos)

I too, speak like its 2000 years ago.

“There’s no reason for you to do that. You have fought enough. Are you going to continue sacrificing yourself for those boring humans?” (Arnos)

Ray slowly shakes his head.

“I still remember our promise that day. This is the peace you pursued, created and protected. Though I’m reluctant in this form I still want to fight but as your friend this time.” (Ray)

What do you mean by that? I can’t ask now though.

“It’s taken a long time and you’ve made some grand preparations but you must have been confused and anxious at times yet despite that, you carried on and made your plans come to fruition. Your thoughts these last 2000 years are not cheap enough to be swayed by my words I know that.” (Arnos)

I won’t tell him to stop.

Those words will be too light in the face of Rays will.

“This isn’t even a single shell necklace but a Mishens necklace.” (Arnos)

My explanation in the academy flashes through my mind.

2000 years ago in the early days of the war, most humans never came back from battle so they wished upon Mishens necklace to be bound together with their lover and be reborn together in another age.

The Mishens shellfish that lives in the Gairadeite lake was divided into two and made into two necklaces. One was given to the lover and the other was worn by themselves as they went to battle.

The Mishens shellfish live by drinking the holy water of the lake and were said to be the messengers of the gods. The two shells were said to guide the origins of the dead to each other.

The hero Kanon/Ray had feelings they couldn’t convey so they entrusted them to the necklace and said goodbye to their loved one.

“If you want this necklace back you’d better try with all your might.” (Arnos)

“I thought you’d say that.” (Ray)

Ray hangs his mask at his waist and draws a magic formation.

A divine light overflowed and turned into a holy sword. Evans Mana that was in the demons kings castle was summoned here.

This man also understands I can’t move him with words.

“Let me go so I can protect you.” (Ray)

The hero readies the spirit god sword.

I spread my arms and stand in front of him.

How many times have I fought this man? Still, this is the first time I’ve felt like this while fighting him.

“I won’t let you go so I can protect you.” (Arnos)

Authors note: And the truth becomes clear. There are still some unclear points but they will be revealed later.

  1. ok this is better than i thought, he was just trying to save his friend, though it was gonna be something convoluted but it was nice

  2. Ohhhhhh man they’re such good brothers, now i wonder about the demons from the myth era, what they’re doing, and the gods too
    Thanks for the chapter!!!!!!

  3. I still can’t see how this plan could work. Okay, humans will kill Avos Dillheavia, and what’s then? There is still human army and mazoku army, how he was supposed to stop them from killing each other?

    • Yeah, It’s kinda funny how short sighted this 2000 year plan is. From what I understand the plan only goes up until the fulfillment of Jerga’s revenge, thus nullifying his enforced will in . After that he’s kinda just hoping for the best? And why exactly did he need to declare himself the demon king to the mazoku and war on humans (Which is what caused them to assemble on the humans borders, ready to oppose) if the target is only the demon king? Why did it have to be 2000 years for that matter anyway? He should have known Arnos would have opposed him, if he wanted to avoid the largest possible obstacle in his plan, he should have executed it before Arnos’ revival. Also he said that he had been killed by humans, revived, then left to start the plan with the mazoku but how did he get past the recently formed great dividing barrier? Well, not much point in thinking too seriously about it though, everything will turn out fine like it usually does.

      • Pure speculation here but I’m guessing he needed to wait for Arnos to reincarnate so after he was killed a “new” demon king i.e Arnos would step up, declare peace and everything would be alright with the world. Also, if you had enough power you can cross the barrier. Melheys did it and you can be damn sure Kanon could do it.

        • with regardss to Melheys, wasn’t that only because of the battier being 2000 years old at that point? could have sworn there was a line somewhere that implied it had weakened over time but I could be wrong.

          • I don’t think that was the reason. From what I remember he crossed when someone was after him which was really early on in the barriers creation. I think (could be wrong) that Arnos said powerful beings could cross it, it would just be very draining for them. Didn’t it take Melheys like a century or something to get enough magic power back to make it back to the mazoku side?

      • Well, even Melheys was able to bypass the walls, so Kanon, who is obviously much stronger, shouldn’t have a problem with it. Actually he could just reincarnate into person behind the wall, I don’t think walls prevent such specific things.

      • I think Kanon was going to rely on Arnos. As Arnos demonstrated two chapters or so ago, him subduing an army or two would be a cakewalk. The only real issue that was starting the war is the rabid Jerga-Ask, so by displacing his anger onto a fake target, he would vanish, which would stop the humans’ irrational hatred since Jerga is the origin. Now, while the mazoku would be pissed at the dead founder, by undoing the memory alteration, they would realize that he wasn’t really dead. As for the two armies, Arnos can bang their heads together until they calmed down enough for the survivors to explain that a rabid group of heroes brainwashed the humans, so they decided to create a fake story to protect the peace Arnos died for.

        • Thanks for the chapter!
I must say that Kanon plan’s aren’t very reasonable, at first i thought that he turned mad and wanted to extermine the humans but dying in battle??? Thats not gonna solve anything, i think that Ask wouldnt disappear, the mazoku would fight for vengeance and the battle will just go on until one side loses.

          • There might be another reason for this whole plan, another issue we don’t know yet. Remember this war was not just between humans and mazoku, but with God’s and spirits as well

      • Sudah ku duga sejak awal Rei adalah Avos. Saya melihat di opening anime dan ternyata Rei melakukan itu untuk teman terpercayanya Arnos. Sungguh cerita yang tak terduga

    • In early chapters, do you remember the voice that Arnos heard about the hatred of the mazoku? That was the spell that Jerga created to kill Arnos when he reincarnated. What Kanon is trying is to destroy that spell. Without the spell, the hatred the humans have against the mazoku will fade with time, the same way the humans forgot the name of Arnos.

  4. thanks for the chapter! finally it’s clear that ray just lied about his memory, not really forget and just get remembered before the war

  5. I still take issue with the sword tournament scene.
So while Anos was talking with Melheys, Ray just got up, changed into Avos, destroyed the origins, changed back and went back to lay on the ground? LoL. That’s be kinda stupid.

    • Arnos himself said he’d got some issues with the tournament but it wasn’t the time or the place to ask Ray. Arnos also said the mask Ray is wearing is different to the one at the tournament. Then there’s the authors note as well so yeah there’s obviously a reason for it.

    • At this point, I think the most reasonable assumption would be that one of the demons that fused with one Kannon’s cores was acting as Avos there.

    • Hmm~
Seems plausible with magic, but that would be too tiring.
Plus, Ray must know that Anos would def see through his lil scheme. After all, they are in close proximity during the swords tournament.

      I’ll give you a hint.
The novel still hadn’t ended yet and it is in volume 7 rite now.
This arc is just more or less a base of what’s ro come 🙂

  6. I mean…his plan was kind from his perspective but still completely nonsensical and pretty dickish to his friend. He got demon kind who loved the demon king to voluntarily forget who the demon king was because of some vague grudge the humans had? Also essentially brainwashing people via his holy sword.
His plan also ended up with demons believing in blood and class structure above all else, so while there was peace his plan had a major negative impact on demon society.
Also why did he have to wait 2000 years to carry out his plan? From the sounds of it his plan would have gone better if Anos didn’t reincarnate. Once Kanon had convinced everybody the demon king was Avos he could have led his attack then.

    • Like I said to someone else and this is pure speculation here but I’m guessing he needed to wait for Arnos to reincarnate so after he was killed a “new” demon king i.e Arnos would step up, declare peace and everything would be alright with the world.

I don’t disagree with your first point in the slightest as it did have a major negative impact on their society. I can only guess but like most humans he didn’t know the mazoku well enough to see how they would go.

Also, he seems very naive even now being 2000 years old. This shows through in both his characters and he does seem to have the the typical hero complex that everything will somehow work out.

    • Maybe Jerga did know that Arnos will reincarnate in 2000 years, so execute the plan before this point will be a pointless action, because Jerga Ask would know something is wrong.

  7. thank you for the chapter!! although it would make me a bit sad, i hope this arc will be done soon so you can take a break.

you’ve been working so hard for us readers to enjoy this series, i hope you don’t take the people that spoil the story to heart because there’s plenty more of us who still appreciate your translations!

    thank tempus senpai!!

    • I believe the translator should rest first if they are tired / busy.
After this chapter, there is still somewhere around…
      5-6 more chapters.

Just FYI but, the the last 2-3 chapters are super long.
Pretty much like this one, I think.

    • gotta love the hero kanon, did the thing his friend wanted the most even after his friend died
But where is shin and the other myth age demons, hope they do not believe in the whole royals and the mixed breed.
There is also the question about who are the heroes of the hero academy that claim to be kanon’s reincarnations.
Too many unanswered questions, damn the author is good.
And the best part is that now arnos is almost human while kanon is a pure demon🤣🤣🤣
Thanks tempus for translating such a great novel

        • Jerga was the Hero before Kanon but only Kanon had 7 origins. Arnos mentioned that he only had 7 because other people gave him their origins and because of how skillful he was with origin magic he was able to integrate them and make them his own. I think Arnos also said that nobody else was skillful enough to replicate it. The so-called Kanon reincarnations are probably just a bunch of randos and probably not even anybody’s reincarnation. They probably were selected by the hero academy and just told they were Kanon’s reincarnations and they believed it. At the same time they can’t actually be reincarnations because none of them ever exhibit either knowledge from 2000 years ago or power that would mark them as being from that time.

@OLAM GENESIS: They just said this chapter that Shin and Arnos’ other subordinates retained their memories of Arnos and have just moved away from Deiruheido.

      • Eleanor mentioned already, they’re nothing more than Human Shaped magic born from her. Where she is the mother, diego the teacher, and that other girl is the combat power.

  8. God, I seriously love the last part of this chapter.
It was so sweet and heartwarming, to the point that I begin to ship them!!!
    Peak bromance!!!!!!

PS : But I shouldn’t ship them. Ray has Misa and Anos…
well I wonder who will be Anos’ wife at the end 😀

  9. People ship Arnos with Sasha, Eleanor, Misha… but we all know his true love is Kanon.
The plot thickens, I’m really enjoying this WN, mostly because it’s different from your normal Maou.

And damn, you sure are getting into translating this one, thanks for that, just don’t overdo it

    • That’s the end of ‘chapter’ 2 there’s currently 13 chapters, for a total of 635 ‘episodes’ and the last one was published some weeks ago chapter 14 is starting soon too it seems. So sit back relax and enjoy =D

    • Addendum: I stopped at 439/635 cause ‘reading’ google sensei became more complicated (some char are called by 2-3 different names at random in the same paragraph for instance)
But you can trust me when I say the novel only gets better

  10. I’ve asked that previously but I can’t find my comment anymore so here I am. But why can’t you put the novel illustrations from time to time when they “need” to be there ? You told me it’s because you don’t want to use something licensed but isn’t the novel itself already licensed ? Also, using image is free and technically there is no particulary risk in using them for your translations.

And as always, thanks for your hard work on that novel ! 🙂

    • I don’t actually have any of the LN illustrations (though I have no doubt they would be easy to find) plus I’m translating the WN not the LN.

As I understand it (and I could be very far off the mark here) the LN and its images are the property of the publisher and/or author while the WN falls into a grey zone as WN’s are not licensed (they are the authors copyright property however). It’s why I don’t translate LN. I remember a while back now the translator of Konosuba was given a DMCA for translating the LN.

Yes, I realise I’m probably in paranoia territory with this and I’ve seen loads of people translating LN’s and using the volume images with no problem at all.

I’m not saying I wont find them and put them up but its not a priority at the moment.

  11. For those who are watching the anime, today was episode 10 which has the underwater combat between the Demon Academy students and the Hero Academy students, After the Heroes cheated with holy water, Arnos dries up the lake to eliminate that holy water. That scene at 21:01 of the episode was excellently animated and worth watching!

Here is one site where anyone can watch the anime:
    https://animefrenzy.org/anime/maou-gakuin-no-futekigousha-shijou-saikyou-no-maou-no-shiso-tensei-shite-shison-tachi-no-gakkou-e

BTW, Eleanor is a black hair beauty! She appears at 15:48 of episode 9.

  12. Holy shenanigans, I loved the chapter, and I’m loving how everyone is sharing thoughts and theories on the comments!

I think what I loved the most is how Kanon can actually match Arnos in the level of 2000-year-old-“badassness”. Like Arnos has a “principle destroying sword” and Kanon has a “destiny changing sword” and he is like, “so I had this plan and just re-wrote history”. Like… people from 2000 years ago were insane.

I’m also very happy that Kanon didn’t go crazy or completely lost faith on mankind.

Thank you so much for your translations, take good care of yourself!

  13. i was thinking and ray couldn’t be shin as shin once stated that he wouldn’t even dare to cut and arm of arnos and on the tournamet ray did it

  14. So Ray made Avos Dillheavia as a scapegoat demon king to be sacrificed to the humans and for Jerga’s magic to get tricked into thinking he finally eliminated the demon king so that the magic would dissipate while protecting Arnos.

Well I don’t think Ray expected for the mazoku to end up with a mindset of pure-blood supremacy because of his actions though.

Anyways even if Ray gets killed as Avos, won’t he just resurrect shortly afterwards? The spirit god sword is in his possession so it can’t be used against him and it wasn’t designed to kill the hero anyways plus he has 7 origins so as long as one continues to exist, the rest will be restored and he’d be resurrected which is why Arnos specifically said Origin Killer didn’t work on him. Couldn’t he just hide at least one then get killed to trick Jerga’s magic then bloop back to life somewhere else shortly afterwards?

    • Even after 2000 years kanon couldn’t revise better plan to defeat jerga’s movement and he didn’t consider that anos may come up getting him in the way. Anos be like “as naive as usual”

    • It’s not that origin killer don’t work on him, but as soon as Kanon as only one origin left he flees … so technically it could work just need to get all seven without fail

    • Well the question is, is it really a problem about what kanon did. I think the demons didn’t really care about the mixblood in the past, because they didn’t exist any at that time.

And for the other question, why he doesn’t simply fakes his death with his origins, maybe the other ones didn’t come back and he has only one at the moment.

  15. Okay, so correct me if I’m wrong, but the fusions that took over Anos’ demon spawn (Aivis and them), those were Kanon’s origins right? I’m just rather curious how that turned into Aivis conducting pretty terrible experiments on his descendants. I mean, that whole process with Sasha and Misha was not humane. How does that experiment factor into everything here? That wasn’t play acting, it legitimately does seem like at least one origin went full on evil. And how much autonomy do the origins possess when separate from Kanon? I might have missed the crucial detail, but right now, Kanon and the things that his origins acted on don’t paint a good picture here. Also, what’s the purpose of rewriting Anos’ history? For instance the exam questions, why change Anos’ values with what he would do to children with demon lord apptitude and whatnot? I guess the question is how those values were changed though.

    • I’ve wondered similar things myself. It’s a bit vague. We know Kanons other origins were donated by others including Jerga so in theory they’d have full autonomy since they are part of another persons soul but like you say the experiment was cruel and look what the others did to the demon society making a pure blood caste system and discriminating against the mixed bloods. I cant imagine that’s what Kanon wanted. It sounds a bit like they were working against him in all honesty.

  16. WAtch it be one of those things where anos goes: You made one mistake in your 2000 year plan. And that was telling me your plan whilst the whole world is listening!”
Ik it wont happen but if it did the dialogue would sound cool af

  17. I’m wondering, can the anime showing until the end of arc 3, currently episode 10 is around chapter 93 of web novel, and there’s still around 20 chapter to be adapted

  18. Wow this is very retarded thank God we’re not following the story of a hero like kanon thatd suck major ass.

Let’s die for the humans that killed me so you can see how beautiful they really are, lol wut mate? Sure bro you dp you, im sure the humans will come around after killing you and stop their crazy grudge against mazoku, after all they just killed the most powerful one, I’m sure they’ll “forgive” all the other ones, what type of retarded shit is this ?

  19. ‘Ask’ tells the humans “kill Mazoku” not “kill the demon king” so why would they stop after killing Avos? Especially when there are humans like their school’s headmaster who hate all Mazoku with a passion. The humans not committing complete genocide seems highly unlikely and idealistic. If ‘Ask’ were to disappear after Avos is killed then would people like the headmaster suddenly say “oh Mazoku, yeah they cool”?
